Fleeing from presence.
Hoping is a
state of mind where one starts expecting more out of something or someone. This
is because he is unhappy in his current state of mind. He is not able to cope
up with his present and thus lets his mind wander into fantasy world.
For example: Young girls are influenced by film personalities and their roles onscreen. This leads them to fantasize about an idealistic life partner whereas in reality it turns out otherwise leading to depression. Being hopeful takes one into a delusive world. Person starts building dreams about an imaginary world. Hoping is another mechanism to escape from reality, where the mind convinces and promises you with freedom in the make built world. However, we must understand that this temporary sense of freedom is false.
