'They' refers to a man of realization. Helping is an act of obliging the other. The other expresses his gratitude by being bound morally to you. So, it is a transaction, where one is the master and the other is a slave. The helping act was the currency to enslave you. So, it was not truly help as the helped one is used in your favor. This is the nature of HELP offered by the materialistic beings of the world. On the other hand, spiritual beings are not bound to reciprocate to the help offered by other beings. They are very well aware of the help rendered in the world, which comprises of sweet talks, expression of gratitude, obliging the other by posing their benevolence, etc. Thus, spiritual beings have accepted the true nature of help unlike that of the world. The people who lack the power of discrimination (between the real or unreal) are fools. These are the ignorant beings of the world. Fools are oblivious of the reality and want to remain in their comfort zone. To function, they go by commands of others. This makes them dependent on the world for their mere survival. On the other hand, wise men are the ones empowered with spiritual knowledge and discipline. They have been gifted with clarity . Thus, they are in command . They can control themselves as they tread the path of truth and are aware of the reality. They can face the most unpleasant truth which ignorant beings cannot. This makes them extremely knowledgeable as they have experienced the field beyond the reach of ignorant beings. They tear the garb of ignorance and transcend to the highest reality. It is true, nobody can be of any help. For any problem we face in life, we look at people for support. They can either be our friends, neighbors, parents or other relatives. 'Help' as a term conveys a vague responsibility. It is rather superficial. True 'help' means directing a person on the path of truth. Nowadays, help is regarded as an act of 'benevolence by mortals'. One must remember that mortals are incapable of helping anybody. In other words, they lack the capacity to help. 'Helping' is an act of selfishness or it is bit more complex. The Goal of society is to attain perfection. However, society is not helping an individual personally. It instead instills fear and insecurity. A simple example: Parents force children to go to school due to society. In this process, if we see carefully, we form a part of society. If we never belonged to the society why would we ever fear the external world, in terms of our reputation and status. Our society today, has forgotten its goals. The goal of education is to make an individual knowledgeable and not competitive. Everybody is interested in the output or marks and not the knowledge.
