A wise man does not love and hence does not need love. This is an esoteric statement indeed! A wise man is connected to the param-atma. The nature of param-atma is ever-joyful and the epitome of love. Thus, the wise have united with the source of love within. Love is already invoked and hence they need not search it outside. Their love is so content that they even don't require an object to express that love. Unlike material love, spiritual love or true love is a mutual communication between the soul and the super-soul (atma and param-atma). Truth is the building block of one's true character . Our reality lies in truth and excavating it  is spirituality. The people who lack the power of discrimination (between the real or unreal) are fools. These are the ignorant beings of the world. Fools are oblivious of the reality and want to remain in their comfort zone. To function, they go by commands of others. This makes them dependent on the world for their mere survival. On the other hand, wise men are the ones empowered with spiritual knowledge and discipline. They have been gifted with clarity . Thus, they are in command . They can control themselves as they tread the path of truth and are aware of the reality. They can face the most unpleasant truth which ignorant beings cannot. Only the wise donates. Many people wonder that -  'How can giving away possibly add to growth?' Well, charity is highly scientific. It is done on the gross plane but benefits the subtle planes of consciousness. In the physical plane it might seem as loss but the wise realizes that it is a profitable transaction. He knows that it is the well being of the subtle plane that brings joy to life. What you donate does not matter. It is just the act and intention that matters. Donating means giving away something valuable and taking back energy. When you donate in the gross world, it cleans up your subtle layers. Wisdom marks the end of all binding and the start towards the path of truth. One is no longer bound to a particular faith, tradition, custom or belief. This is because he walks the path of truth alone. Religious teachings elaborate a lot on faith, custom and tradition, which is well assimilated by a wise man. The wise have transcended this plane to attain pure knowledge. He becomes one with Knowledge or the Light of truth. Only wisdom sets one free from the shackles of Maya (illusion). Wisdom is the quality of discrimination. It helps one discriminate between the truth and falsehood, between spiritual and material. The power of wisdom emanates from following Dharma as prescribed in our Vedic religion. Following these religious practices with utmost faith and commitment leads us to its final chapter, which is Wisdom. This is the final teaching that religion can offer to set one on the spiritual path. This is the quality that separates a spiritual from the mundane people.
