My library

Image
Many people collect books to create a library. In fact many books remain untouched, collected with an intention to perhaps read it one day. Just because a particular friend told you to read it! So, the common reaction of people is to walk up to the store or buy it online! But, we can never find time to read it. If someone would ask your views about the (unread) book, placed in your crowded library, you would rate it with the lens of your friend, who suggested the outline of the book. This is the fallacy of us humans. We are untruthful to the core. We never read it, but yet we cannot accept it. This is because we have created a facade of a geek or a knowledgeable man to the world. We have fancied our body with the suit of a gentleman and our homes with a huge library. Our mind has carved numerous identities for us, many of which is picked up from the unread books. These are the imprints of our mind, which compel us to create false identities. It has been continuing since many lif...

Glories of 'Knowledge'

Image
Knowledge is not heritable. It is not an asset, thus cannot be possessed. It is not available in books which can simply be acquired through mere reading. We must understand the nature of 'knowledge' first. Knowledge is the source of existence. The very idea of distinguishing one from other that streams from our thoughts is the result of enough churning of knowledge. It is the possibility to grasp reality, an aid for us humans to get a glimpse of the ultimate truth. It is the repository of truth and hence is beyond conception. This is not mere glorification of 'knowledge', but just a mere introduction of it. When man is an infant he cannot understand the difference between fire and water, until experienced or taught. The memory of an experience, retained to understand or delve into the subject is the dawn of knowledge. Only knowledge makes possible to retain the useful and let go the unwanted clutter of the mind. It is the benefactor of a composed mind and leads ...

Cause of Problems

Image
The people who lack the power of discrimination (between the real or unreal) are fools. These are the ignorant beings of the world. Fools are oblivious of the reality and want to remain in their comfort zone. To function, they go by commands of others. This makes them dependent on the world for their mere survival. On the other hand, wise men are the ones empowered with spiritual knowledge and discipline. They have been gifted with clarity . Thus, they are in command . They can control themselves as they tread the path of truth and are aware of the reality. They can face the most unpleasant truth which ignorant beings cannot. This makes them extremely knowledgeable as they have experienced the field beyond the reach of ignorant beings. They tear the garb of ignorance and transcend to the highest reality. They know the science of the human mind which ignorant beings deny to accept. This is indeed mournful that fools help fools and the wise are not approached for advice. The res...

Learn to get rid of attachment !

Image
Indeed, attachment is the most dangerous of all vices. It is not easy to forget our loved ones so easily. Without, attachment a man no more remains in a state of distinguishing between friends, enemies and loved ones. Our loved ones, are an extension of our nature. We love them as they are related are connected within, not in the heart... in the mind. Our mind is the repository of all our unconscious nature where attachment too lies. It is the cave which has been coming with us since our many lifetimes. When we look at our dear ones, our mind triggers memories. These memories are just relished by man because he is attached to the emotion. Now, emotion is another form of attachment. This emotion towards loved one is purely an emotion being the subject and the object, the loved one has been changing from one life to another. Thus, 'memories' is just hallucination. Because, it is the emotion and not the person you are attached to. The person is just an object for your emo...

What is Wisdom?

Image
Wisdom marks the end of all binding and the start towards the path of truth. One is no longer bound to a particular faith, tradition, custom or belief. This is because he walks the path of truth alone. Religious teachings elaborate a lot on faith, custom and tradition, which is well assimilated by a wise man. The wise have transcended this plane to attain pure knowledge. He becomes one with Knowledge or the Light of truth. Only wisdom sets one free from the shackles of Maya (illusion). Wisdom is the quality of discrimination. It helps one discriminate between the truth and falsehood, between spiritual and material. The power of wisdom emanates from following Dharma as prescribed in our Vedic religion. Following these religious practices with utmost faith and commitment leads us to its final chapter, which is Wisdom. This is the final teaching that religion can offer to set one on the spiritual path. This is the quality that separates a spiritual from the mundane people.

We live in hell...

Image
The Goal of society is to attain perfection. However, society is not helping an individual personally. It instead instills fear and insecurity. A simple example: Parents force children to go to school due to society. In this process, if we see carefully, we form a part of society. If we never belonged to the society why would we ever fear the external world, in terms of our reputation and status. Our society today, has forgotten its goals. The goal of education is to make an individual knowledgeable and not competitive. Everybody is interested in the output or marks and not the knowledge. Society has made one highly identified with the ignorant self. This means, one's living revolves around the satisfaction of the ego. This environment brings about competitive spirits in children, envy in adults and anxiety in the old. Children are unconsciously competing with their classmates instead of learning from them. Adults at work are envious of their junior and seniors instead...

Confidently Ignorant!

Image
Confidence is a superimposed mask worn by our famous personalities, scholars, speakers, etc. It does not come from the depths of the heart. It is a tool used to influence people and get their attention. This is simply an easy mechanism to satisfy one’s ego. Through their false sense of freedom and knowledge they create a field to attract another set of ignorant people. This transmission of ignorance continues. Confidence cannot be equated to freedom or knowledge. Freedom is literally freedom from seeking attention and depending on others for one’s happiness. On the other hand knowledge is eternal. It cannot be taught or learnt by anybody simply through teaching. Knowledge needs to be experienced. It does not change with time and circumstances. Thus, the confident person is fooling other people like oneself. It is nothing but ignorance where neither knowledge is getting transmitted nor freedom. Hence there is no scope for gaining.
