Don't Try To Influence
'Influencing' refers to sharing and subsequently convincing the other of one's own ideologies and opinions. We ourselves undergo tremendous changes on the physical platform. From childhood, to adolescence, to adulthood and finally old age. Similarly, our view about people, incidents and others have also changed with passing time. Expecting one to accept these changing opinions of yours, is foolishness. Because you yourself would not accept theirs. Just like you, even others undergo changes in their mental make-up. When you are out influencing, others are busy struggling to live their own ideas. While when the latter is out influencing you struggle to manage your own ideas. In spite of the ill-response, everybody is out there, trying to influence the other. Time passes but this activity continues endlessly.
