Desire leads to ruin
Every person
in the world craves for happiness. The true goal of man is to be happy, devoid
of any sorrow or misery. Due to our vacuum within we have mistakenly equated
pleasure to happiness. To some extent these two, pleasure and happiness seem
synonymous but they aren’t.
Pleasure is momentary which can be derived through
the worldly objects while happiness is eternal. It cannot be experienced
through matter or perishable objects.
Our boredom,
loneliness and sorrow drive us mad. In this state we frantically desire for freedom and happiness. Thus, we begin our
journey to find happiness.
But, when we meet pleasure or momentary happiness we
mistake it to be everlasting happiness.
We start feeling we have achieved happiness. Next, we participate in the worldly activities which give rise to another set of desires like name, fame, wealth, respect, status, etc. We work harder to keep that ‘happiness’ alive.

Just think:
Can we ever keep happiness alive or is it the other way round. When our vacuum
within grows wilder we are incapable of keeping ourselves alive, then how can we
keep happiness alive?
Simply understand, we have lost our way. The path to happiness, led by our distressed mind is actually leading us to our ruin. This is because it was lit by the spark of our desires which is known only to seek happiness at the wrong place.
