Do you love anybody?

This is very much evident. If you can sincerely answer this question, then you'll understand this the way it is expressed. "What makes you love your family?", "Why are you attached to your family?".
Lets understand this with very specific answers.
We love our spouse because he/she earns, fulfills our desires, cooks good food, etc. This is a genuine answer.

 We might feel: "But, no I sincerely love him/her." You don't love your neighbor or a stranger. Just because they are not related to you. They don't contribute to you emotions. They are not giving you any ind of pleasure. So, simply the answer to this question concludes that we love our family because they satisfy our desires. We love our children because they are our extended form of ego, etc.

 We are attached to our family because they are ours. We are attached because, we find that particular entity interesting. "That particular entity gives me pleasure and so I love him/her.". This is the truth behind all families. If we find a happy family, we should know that their motives or intentions are being satisfied. Not truly do we love the other, but truly we love ourselves.

 Adopt spirituality to know yourself. You don't know yourself enough, then what can you know about the other. If you don't know the other, you can never love.

Knowledge is not heritable. It is not an asset, thus cannot be possessed. It is not available in books which can simply be acquired through mere reading. We must understand the nature of 'knowledge' first. Knowledge is the source of existence. It may seem a nightmare when you realize that the your loved ones are no more the same. It may be either your friend, spouse, children or other relatives. Your confidence in them has drastically reduced. Why now, today your loved ones seem alien to you? The answer may be vague, perhaps a mix of emotions. Any change we perceive in the world is a result of the mental makeup of oneself and the other.
